I’ve been there.

Who wouldn't?

Ah, that sucks (like the Dragon can be at times, I guess ).
Ever explored NW Arkansas?

The dragon can be overrated because of the traffic. I found the roads near the dragon to be more enjoyable.

I’ve heard similar from others. Where you there during a
weekend?

Ditto Big Sur.

It was a Sunday afternoon on a drive back to GVL from Nashville. I might have made a little bit of a detour.

That link in the photo description is pretty cool, much better than most in-car videos.

I thought you’d enjoy it!

Car or Motorcycle, who do it better?

Pretty such both would be a blast, but 4 > 2 in the corners.

I love cars, I’m a “car” guy, but my favorite physical sensation is the transition of weight as you murder turns on a fast, nimble motorcycle. Closely followed by the post surf “ glow” , the good sex, and sliding sideways in a car.
It’s why I just can’t have a motorcycle, I cannot be trusted even by myself. My most recent ride was on my best pals DR650, even he said I was getting after it too hard . I can almost “feel” the point where I loose control of myself. I get super low in a turn and the bike will wobble and for a split second I’ll be like “see dummy, ya gotta chill out you almost fell there.” But before before I’m even out of the turn I’m like “yeah but BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP”
I honestly don’t know if I will ever be mature enough, by the time I am I will probably have no business riding a motorcycle for other reasons.

It’s still in my plans to buy a dirt bike (maybe electric), but there will be no road bike for me until the kids are through college (and maybe not even then). I just don’t trust other drivers, and my Mrs. addiction is very opposed. I didn’t grow up riding motorcycles, so it’s not a huge pull, but I want to learn how to be a better rider.
I have not distinguished myself in the balance sports... LOL

Ugh DIRTBIKE. That is what I really want! However, I’m not the type of person to tow a dirt bike somewhere to ride it and we don’t have enough land to warrant one. I grew up riding dirt bikes at a friends who had a lot of land and it’s probably the reason that I am a bad “road” rider. Even on my little Grom I found myself up the butts of cars with 9.5hp!
I thought “well the only thing I can do with a faster bike is illegally pass people like this and that opens up a whole new can of danger.” That plus my little girl will keep me off of the road on two wheels for the foreseeable future.

There must be “rent and ride” places around. Might be a option.
Yup - good call, D
ad.

You should start doing moto track days. A bunch of the guys I ride with do track days only because they can’t turn their enthusiasm down on the street. Full safety gear is a requirement and the tracks have perfect pavement with huge runoffs. The risk of hurting yourself is incredibly low. In the 2 years I’ve been doing occasional track days I’ve seen a lot of accidents (people lowside constantly) and the worst injury has been a broken collarbone.
Track prepped bikes are very cheap and consumables are low.

Hmm that sounds like fun. I have no problem going all out on safety gear. Any model recommendations for track bike candidates? I am most certainly a novice as far as experience and probably ability.

The obvious candidate is always the SV650. Cheap and reliable with good speed. Can be upgraded with GSXR suspension/brakes.
There are usually a handful of track prepped bikes on Craigslist/FB too.

Yeah, I’m the same (another reason to love NW Arkansas).
